Jaylene Patterson, a first year social studies teacher at Boone County high school, is pictured at her college graduation. She went to the University of Kentucky for both her bachelor’s and master's degrees. She became a teacher to represent students. She said, “I believe the profession lacks diversity. I think it is important that our student population is represented in our faculty. We need people that look like our students.” Outside of school, Patterson enjoys doing yoga, eating, napping, and spending time with her boyfriend, friends, and family.
