Study hall should be a resource students have at their disposal to use. It would provide a quiet learning environment for the students for tests or homework.
If students were given a designated study time, students would have less worries about homework and, if caught up with assignments they have time to study for a test or important assignment.
students hardly ever meet outside the classroom to work on certain assignments or major projects. If given a study hall, these students would be able to have time outside the classroom to work on these assignments or projects.
Some may think that students would misuse their privilege of a study hall due to too having too many students and too few teachers to monitor. However a simple way to counter this is by smaller student groups so that a single teacher could keep watch.
Study hall would also provide a more comfortable environment for student cooperation where they may not have such an opportunity to work with each other. This would also allow students to meet new people and further expand their social and educational horizons.
The best part of study hall would be the fact that it isn’t a required or mandatory class, meaning that if you choose to enter it you can get free time to do work.
However if students do enter it, then it is their responsibility to keep quiet and do their work.
Students should be encouraged to take an optional class as study hall.

Study hall can be a useful resource for students who use that extra time to their advantage, but some students would abuse the privilege of a study hall.
Most students would try to use study hall for sleeping, and distractions like video games, YouTube and cell phones.
Peer pressure is a big part when it comes to actually focusing.
If a student that is hard working sees another student sleeping, watching videos and playing games, that could persuade them to do the same thing the off-track kid is doing.
Teachers can try to stop them, but there are a limited number of teachers.
Also, study hall takes away a whole class period, and if kids don’t use it properly, it is a waste of class time.
For many students, time in a structured class with planned activities is more valuable than a study hall.
Replacing that with a study hall can result in less learning and lower grade averages.
If class time is going to be sacrificed, it should be used for something more useful such as ACT practice or Rebel Readiness.
Limited help is a big issue when it comes to study halls.
When school officials put more than 50 kids in a “study hall” it gets difficult for limited teachers i to keep track of who really needs help and who doesn’t need help.
Students are better off in class and so Boone should not have study hall.
