The case of the missing golden toilet
Four men have been found guilty of stealing a golden toilet valued at $5.4m from the Blenheim Palace after a overnight raid happened.
The toilet had been installed as an artwork at the Oxfordshire palace, the birthplace of Winston Churchill.
Maurizo Cattelan’s artwork “America,” which he created in 2016, was an 18-karat-gold fully functional toilet.
“America” was originally displayed in Soloman R. Guggenheim Musesum in New York City. The golden toilet was moved to Blenhiam Palace in 2019 due to a exhibition; it was later stolen while on display.
The heist took place on Sep. 14, 2019 when a group of men used sledgehammers and and crowbars to remove the toilet from the plumbing system. It was reported that it took them under five minutes to get the toilet out of Blenhiam Palace.
The golden toilet “America” has not been found, and police believe the thieves sold the parts or melted it down to sell.
The men were found guilty as of March, 20, 2025.

Squishmallow vs. Build-A-Bear: Who shall win the battle of fluff
The owners of Squishmallows, a popular stuffed animal brand, filed a intellectual property lawsuit against Build-A-Bear on Monday, claimings its new “Skoosherz” stuffed toys is a knock-off version of its Squishmallows.
Build-A-Bear struck back with its own legal complaint, claiming “Skoosherz” mode is based on its own Build-A-Bear models.
Squishmallows creator Kelly Toys and its owner Jazwares filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Central District in California on Monday.
Build-A-Bear has been around for more than 25 years. It has launched an online store called “the Bear Cave” that only customers aged 18 and up can access.
Buyers can purchase bears with bottles of champagne, collaborations with brands like “Star Wars” and “Pokemon,” and its trademarked “Skoosherz.”
The lawsuit claims that Build-A-Bear has been trying to trick customers with obvious knock-offs, stealing potential customers and sales from Squishmallows.
During the lawsuit, Build-A-Bear’s request was to be sent 3,000 Squishmallows as apart of the lawsuit deal.
The intellectual property lawsuit is still active.
