As the school year is coming to an end, summer is right around the corner With that, students are going to have to find something to do throughout the day to stay occupied.
Childhood activities can be just as entertaining now as teenagers as they were several years ago. Even though teenagers are growing up doesn’t mean they can’t enjoy childhood activities.
It’s probably been awhile since anyone has enjoyed their favorite summer activity because they outgrew the rules or simply became bored of it, but there’s many ways to amp them up to be more fun.
Here are some classic nostalgic games and activities that are more age appropriate for you!
Slip & Slides
A classic activity most people have done are Slip and Slides. Slip and slides are a fun way that kids can stay cool and entertained on a hot summer day.
As everyone gets older, it’s easier to be outside more often, especially on super hot days, and slip and slides can be a fun activity to do at any time of the day. Grab a hose and a tarp to enjoy some fun time with friends.
Slip and slides would be a great way to cool off on a hot day with a group of friends especially as the sun starts to set. That way you wont get burnt.
To have more fun add some soap to the slide or tarp to make it more slippery that way it makes it more fast. Get it wet and put it on a hill and add some inflatables under it to make a ramp. Make sure to be safe.
If that isn’t fun enough add a competition to it, time each person and see who reaches the bottom first and in the fastest time.
Have each person compete until there is a declared winner or make teams and have them compete until there is a winning team. To add even more spice have the losing teams do a punishment.
Wear and reapply sunscreen in order to not get sunburned!
Manhunt
Two classic games most people have played as a kid are tag and hide and seek. Manhunt is a fun activity that can incorporate both of those games.
Getting older means that it is easier to stay outside later in the night, and manhunt is a game that can be played both night and day. Grab a flashlight and some friends to have a great time.
Manhunt would be a good game to play when a group of friends is bored with nothing to do, especially at night. That way they stay cool.
To add more suspense and excitement to the game, try going to an open park or field. Make sure not to get in trouble for trespassing.
One way to make it more interesting is to split all the hiders up into groups if it is possible then have one person in each group turn their ringers on and the volume to max on their phones.
Each group has to pick an animal sound and the chosen person sets their ringtone to that sound, this will make it easier for the hunters to find them if they are having trouble.
The goal is to try to be the last animal group to not be found or caught by the hunters or to find and catch all the hiders, depending on the team.
Diving for Treasure
One more classic summer game is Diving for Treasure. Diving for Treasure is a fun game to play in the pool with your friends while you’re also staying cooled off on a hot summer day.
The older everybody gets, the harder it is to stay entertained in the pool. Grab your dive rings and some goggles.
To make it more fun try it at night, so it’s harder to see the objects in the water. throw the objects in the water and some glow sticks so you can see a little and race your friends to see who can find the most in a certain amount of time.
Make a certain color ring for money like a blue ring is worth one dollar and a pink ring ten dollars. Have a specific color be a “bad” one.
Have the bad color either make them lose money or have them be out of the game that way it takes the players longer to look so they don’t get the bad one.
To spice it up even more, don’t tell the players what each color means have them get as much as they can to see if it was all worth it or not.
Make sure to be safe in the water and don’t drown.
