“I’m just a huge football fan,” business teacher Kristin Morvik said. “I’m pretty much obsessed with football. I think my parents brought me home in a football jersey.”
Morvik has been a teacher at Boone for five years, but before her time here, she worked as a marketing intern with the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals.
Morvik worked with the Bengals for about 10 years, and her title was a Sales and Special Events Manager.
Before she worked with the Bengals, Morvik grew up in Champaign, Ill. and so did her love for football.
In 2001, the Chicago Bears played their football season at The University of Illinois, and because she had connections with the university, she was given the opportunity to become an intern with the Bears’ marketing department.
After that, she went back to college in Miami, Ohio, and started working with the Bengals.

While Morvik worked with the Bengals, she helped with engaging fans and entertaining.
She said she tried to create a fun atmosphere for the fans to enjoy their time watching the game.
Morvik was responsible for game days by bringing in fans to support the players and setting things like merchandise up and sponsorships.
She said she learned a lot about how to lead, solve problems, develop business skills and get and receive feedback.
Over her time with the Bengals, her wedding came around and she had the head coach of the Bengals, Marvin Lewis, at her wedding along with football players Carson Palmer and Chad Johnson.
Since Morvik learned a lot from working with the Bengals, she said she has learned to put that onto her students to teach them about marketing and business with concrete examples.

Morvik said she will always be a huge football fan. “Theres something very nostalgic about it for me.”
