Screaming, yelling, and cheering! That’s all you would hear if we kept doing pep rallies in the gym.
Pep rallies on the turf field would provide much more space than what the gym does. The expansive space allows for a greater variety of large-scale, dynamic activities.
Activities like obstacle races or large group competitions are more difficult to coordinate in a confined gym space.
The open area on the field provides more room for performers like the marching band.
This could also be a chance to watch our band perform. Some of the students can’t go to games and the band rarely gets the recognition they deserve.
Our first pep rally is usually in September, which is our homecoming pep rally. Having this pep rally on the turf field would make people excited for the upcoming homecoming game and parade.
Since the turf field is much larger than the gym, this would give us much more space for activities we couldn’t do in the gym.
We could do a game of tug of war, or bubble soccer. These could be done in the gym but we have many more options outside on the turf field.
We have more options for pep rallies on the turf like a large obstacle course, a powderpuff game, races between students and teachers on the track.
We could even do a game where cheer and dance teams go against the football team.
This helps schools come together as one and increase school spirit, and this also creates a more realistic and exciting “game day” atmosphere for the upcoming game.
Wider spaces like the turf field help build more direct connection for pep rallies, while also increasing support for sports teams.
Now some might say that having pep rallies in the gym would be better because one never knows what the weather might be that day, but that is easy to fix.
If there’s bad weather, where we can’t be outside for pep rallies, we can easily move the pep rally to the gym.
This’ll also bring more people to Friday night lights to join the excitement in cheering our Rebels on.
If more people are at the football game, then that means more money for the school and more support for the football, cheer, and dance team.
The football team feeds off of the crowd, so when the crowd goes wild, so does the football team.
Overall, bringing the pep rallies to the turf field brings many positive impacts for the school.
